(WASHINGTON DC) — (April 14, 2014) – The Perfect Promotion joined the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI; ppai.org), the world’s largest and oldest not-for-profit association serving more than 10,800 corporate members of the $18.5 billion promotional products industry which is comprised of more than 33,800 businesses and a workforce of nearly 500,000 professionals, in Washington, D.C., this week, April 9-10, 2014, to meet with members of Congress and federal agencies for the fifth annual PPAI L.E.A.D. (Legislative Action and Action Day) and Virtual Fly-In.
The PPAI L.E.A.D. is a gathering of PPAI leadership, members and industry professionals from around the country who come together in Washington, D.C. (in-person and virtually) to educate Congress on industry-critical issues as well as the power, impact and job-generating value of promotional products.
According to Jody Ferrer, Pres/CEO The Perfect Promotion, “By participating in PPAI’s L.E.A.D. we joined with thousands of promotional products professionals to advocate for the industry on issues critical to the way we do business. It is important that we continue to educate and build relationships with our legislators to ensure the good work of our industry continues unencumbered by non-essential legislation or the lack thereof. The annual L.E.A.D. event provides all of us a great opportunity to communicate directly with our legislators with one powerful voice.”
During PPAI L.E.A.D., nearly 70 advocates from 30 states conducted more than 250 meetings with senators, congressional representatives and their legislative staffs on Capitol Hill; thousands of promotional products professionals from around the U.S. advocated on a host of issues by writing letters, emails and social media posts focusing on the importance of pending legislation and issues relevant to the promotional products industry.
During the meetings, The Perfect Promotion leadership, small business owners and executives from PPAI urged legislators to consider issues and legislation important to the promotional products industry:
- Promotional Products: A Powerful, Cost-Effective Communication Tool
- Advertising Expenditures
- Independent Contractors and the Promotional Products Industry
